You can get housing benefit from Försäkringskassan (Social security) if you are between 18 and 29, or if you have children. How much benefit you receive depends on the size of your family, how much you earned and how much you pay for your home. You can only apply for benefit for one year at a time and if your income changes during that time you must inform Försäkringskassa immediately, otherwise you may be liable to repay the benefit.
