Halmstad municipality owns and runs Halmstad City Airport. The airport has lots of departures every day to Arlanda and Bromma. Direct charter flights are also available seasonally. Halmstad City Airport is a perfect international airport.
The airport has a catchment area of around 70 km with passengers from throughout Halland and municipalities in western Småland.
In addition to regular air traffic, Halmstad City Airport is also used for other aerial activities. The airport is the base for the air ambulance, emergency services helicopters, air fire service and police helicopters. The Swedish Armed Forces uses Halmstad City Airport for target flights, training JAS technicians and transport services for the Nordic Battle Group.
