Library services

The library gives you access to a wide variety of services, most of which are free.
Halmstad has nine public libraries and a mobile library with 165 stops.
Many of our services can be used from home.
The libraries in Söndrum, Simlångsdalen and Vallås have programmes for children and adults. Other libraries have programmes for children.
All libraries have media and activities for children. This is targeted at children between 0-15, but also to parents and pre-school personnel.
Library cards allow you to borrow books, music, magazines, audio books, computer games etc. You can rent TV games and feature films: You have access to computers with word processing, internet, printers etc.

Library from home
Many of our services can be used from home.
You can search our range of media in our catalogue. You can also log in and reserve books on loan or re-loan books you have at home.
You can also loan e-books, e-audio books or music using your computer.
