People living in Halmstad have a right to know what’s going on in the municipality, meaning they have the right to receive municipal information.
You can, for example, read an evaluation about your children’s school kitchens or about your neighbour’s planning permission. Other examples of public documents include minutes of meetings, official communication and letters to and from the municipal council.
Documents concerning individuals or work material are not made public.

If you live in Halmstad municipality you can have an influence on your municipality in various ways.
By voting in the municipal council elections you choose the politicians you want to look after childcare, planning permission and care of the elderly.
